- You know, stars look prettier when there are no lights around.
- Well I've noticed…
- But do you know why?
- Umm, I have my theories. But if you know the correct answer then tell me.
- It all started millions of years ago. Stars were the most beautiful beings on the cosmos and no other existence could say differently. They used to shine bright and their lights could be enough for all the inhabitants of the universe. Until humans came, and they weren't satisfied. They were greedy, and the starshine wasn't enough for them. So they stole fire from the sun, and then invented electric lights. And the universe as punishment secluded us, took us to a realm far away from the stars. And imprisoned us with the air and gravity. That's the reason why we can't breathe outside the earth.
Lynn started laughing with a couple of tears in her face. She would miss her, she would definitely miss her. Because no one else in the world would make her imagine wonderful scenarios like she does.
- Umm.. you never answered the question.
- Oh. We see stars when less lights are around because the light here is closer and stronger, thus it lessens the other illuminated beings around. Same principle applies when you hold a flashlight near a house, the house may be larger and have more lights but the flashlight shines more.
- Oh.
